LIKUD SUPPORTER GIVES KIDNEY TO SAVE GAZAN BOY

[Notes by Tom Gross]

Idit Harel Segal, a 50-year-old Israeli married mother of three from the northern village of Eshhar, is being praised for donating one of her kidneys to save a three-year-old Palestinian boy from Gaza.

The father of the Palestinian boy, who suffered from a congenital kidney defect, said he was incredibly grateful. He and the boy's mother travelled from Gaza to Beilinson Hospital in the Israeli town of Petah Tikva to be with their son during the operation.

Segal said she decided to donate one of her kidneys (even though there was a risk to her health, and possibly her life) as a good deed, and said it was not a political act. Segal said she remains a staunch supporter of former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Segal told the Israeli website Zman Yisrael: "I read stories about people who donated kidneys and was disappointed to see they were almost only men. I told myself, I'm a strong woman, and I'm going to do it. Something inside me felt like it was the right thing to do."

She added that she was inspired throughout her life by her grandfather, a Holocaust survivor who always taught her to do good. Two of Segal's other grandparents were killed in a Palestinian terror attack in Jerusalem.

ISRAELI ARMY FORMS 3D IMAGES OF FALLEN FLORIDA CONDO TO HELP FIND VICTIMS

The New York Post reports that the Israeli military - which sent a rescue team to Miami to help in the search for victims - has created an intricate set of three-dimensional mapping diagrams of the collapsed Florida condo building as part of its efforts to assist local authorities in finding victims in the rubble.

The death toll stood at 16 as of yesterday afternoon, with 147 people still missing, Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said.

Capt. Uri Jospe told The New York Post that the images were created by the Israeli military's secretive Unit 9900, which is tasked with gathering visual intelligence, including geographical data from satellites and planes.

Unit 9900 created the 3-D models to map the collapsed building in order to streamline the process of locating the missing people.

"Based on what the rescuers are finding, including artifacts, and what we gather from the families, the unit created the 3-D modeling that is very accurate," said Jospe, 36, adding that the high-tech unit also composed images of the building before the collapse to compare the landmarks to the pancaked remains.

"So that means that we know that if someone was in bed in apartment X, we can try and find their location now," he said. Asked about the prospects of finding survivors, the Israeli officer said that "our assumption is always that you will be alive."

In Israel, the 3-D maps created by members of Unit 9900 - 58 percent of whom are women - allow for ground forces and fighter pilots to gain a picture of enemy territory before they head into action.

UK SAYS IT WANTS PFIZER VACCINES THAT ISRAEL OFFERED PALESTINIANS BUT PALESTINIANS REJECTED

Israeli TV Channel 12 news reported yesterday evening that the governments in Jerusalem and London are holding negotiations to broker a COVID-19 vaccine swap deal.

Under the exchange, Israel, which currently has an excess of doses, would ship around 1 million Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines to the UK to be used during the course of July.

In exchange, Israel would receive an equivalent number of vaccines that the UK is scheduled to receive from Pfizer in September.

Last month Israel offered these vaccines to the Palestinian Authority for use in the West Bank but the Palestinian Authority rejected them for political reasons, to the outrage of many.

FIRST ALL-FEMALE TANK CREW TO BE STATIONED ON EGYPTIAN BORDER

A tank staffed only by female IDF soldiers and a female commander, is to be sent to the Egyptian border for the first time in Israeli (or possibly world) history, Israel's KAN news reported yesterday evening.

The tank will be stationed on the Egyptian border in the coming days. Women are playing an increasingly important role both in the Israeli army and in the country's intelligence services.

FORMER DEMOCRATIC CONGRESSWOMAN CLAIMS JEWS WERE BEHIND 9/11 ATTACKS

In a tweet this week, former Democratic Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney again accused Jews of being behind the 9/11 attacks (which was of course carried out by Muslim extremists).

Among those to condemn her latest antisemitic conspiracy was New York Congressman Jamaal Bowman. "At a time when antisemitic hate is increasing nationwide & solidarity has never been more important, this is what we're not going to do. This is antisemitic. It is hateful. It is misguided and ignorant," he wrote.

In the past McKinney shared claims that "powerful people [Jews] conspire to kidnap children and have blood rituals."

In May 2020, she said that "the figure [of Jews killed in the Holocaust] wasn't six million after all."

Current Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar was also widely criticized this week by fellow Democrats for her latest antisemitic statement.

MOROCCAN JOURNALIST RECEIVES DEATH THREATS AFTER INTERVIEWING "WONDER WOMAN"

Moroccan reporter Simo Benbachir has received death threats and lost thousands of Instagram followers after he praised Israeli actress and "Wonder Woman" star Gal Gadot.

He described Gadot as "one of the most exciting actresses he has ever met," saying she was "amazing in every sense of the word."

Benbachir added that he supports Morocco's peace treaty with Israel, brokered last year by the Trump administration, saying that it is in the interest of the Moroccan people.
